Observation summary covering Week One:
Over the duration of week one: Not a word is spoken: All sound comes out of a single acoustic fiddle: All sounds, including those looped by the fiddle-player's phrase sampler and controlled by him, are performed and looped on the spot as heard and seen on the video: Looped phrases that are subsequently reversed or played at half-speed are initially performed backwards or at double the speed to facilitate the process, and again, all at the same moment: In sum, no electronic effects, no overdubs, no post-editing, no prerecorded loops: Any volume adjustments to aid the sound through the bridge are also made there and then by the same fiddle-player: Always the same fiddle-player, alone, always the same acoustic fiddle.
